Kaikoura is on the Pacific Coast of New Zealand's South Island just 2.5 hours drive from Christchurch, 1.5 hours from the Marlborough wine region and only 2 hours from Picton, gateway from Wellington and the North Island.

Mt Fyffe and the Kaikoura Ranges tower above the town but are so close to the coast they appear to rise directly from the sea, providing a powerfully natural environment for a range of exciting sea and land adventures and attractions.

The Peninsula is the convergence of two ocean currents creating a fertile feeding for an abundance of marine mammals and birdlife. Kaikoura is one of the only places in the world where sperm whales can be seen almost every day. Other whales - orca, humpback, pilot and blue can be seen as well as dolphins, seals and even sharks.

Ocean Ridge is a mere five minutes drive from the center of Kaikoura township, and is the newest residential eco' land development in Kaikoura. It overlooks the Kaikoura golf course and offers 360 degree panoramic views of the coastline and nearby mountains. It is a good 20 minute walk to town so complimentary transfers to and from town are available on request and subject to availability, or subsidised shuttle fares at $5 per person each way.
